wished Mr William Tell a happy birthday yesterday?!?!?!
I see a few "non-Sundayers" showed up yesterday. Must
have slipped ya'lls minds. I though CLIFF would be first
in line, or Rob... Well......now is your chance.....

Happy Belated! May your arrow be sharp, and your aim true.

almost forgot ~ thank you for all you do around here to
keep this rusty boat afloat.

WT, just in case it got missed in my cynical old doubting Thomas act, just wanted to be sure that you got my very best wishes - another year couldn't be gifted to a better guy. I'm honoured and glad to know you, Master Tell.

Ha! You know me too well my friend! (Only you would have figured, based on my anal retentive, overly worrisome nature, that I would be careful about such info...I will only tell you that the truth is I WAS born in October, and I am in my fifties!).

I got a great kick out of your post, so rest assured I took it most positively.

A good day and a good night to all, birthdays or not....

If only I had wished Cliff a good one back on the day of
The Fat Man..........
http://www.archive.org/iathreads/post-view.php?id=202105

I am glad we are alive in this world and a part of
each others "lives". I am sure there are some who might
not feel the same..........and yet they hang around.

Hope The Dead knocked 'em.......errrrrrrrr............well
......ummmm......dead tonight. I was hoping for a
"He's Gone" myself: Steal your face right off your head.
Nothing gonna bring him back!
Nothing left to do but smile smile smile. come on, it
practically writes itself!

HB WT and many more
now, lets see how fast tonights show gets to bt.etree!

Yeah, I noticed that too...I think that the traditional story goes he was supposed to meet them to play on the 12th, but didn't show, and that was for a jam after the Avalon, on a ferry or some such, but then he showed on the second night, which would make it the 13th, but they just kept playing and didn't let him come on...

Obviously, we would hear him playing, right? And we don't...on either the 12th or the 13th.

Good story, but...

Right; think that was the problem since they both played, they were both worn out and Jimi just didn't make the after the show get together. Then, he was supposed to come the next night and they snubbed him then...again, no hard facts, just a few things I have read over the years.

I wasn't in line because in all honesty I can't recall WT ever divulging his birthday here. Are you sure about this?

Well, good work, Mr Craven! That would have passed me by entirely if not for you. So I guess I also owe belated birthday wishes to Billy T.

The day finds me tolerably well, which is perhaps the best we can hope for in these times. I trust all is as well as it can be with you too.

"The Tell was brought up in a time of blood and dying and never questioned a bit of it. He never turned his back on his folks or his kind. I rode with him... and I got no complaints, especially on his birthday."

Gotta say, Earl, I loved that quote when you posted it in the other thread...it seemed to fit so nicely...

And I never would've guessed its origins. Thought it was McCarthy or some such. Great one that led me to Cowboy Ethics or some similar titled book that kept me busy for an afternoon after googling your quote!

Thanks.

One of the best lines from one of the best westerns of all times. Without context you may not guess it a eulogy, but nevermind, I think it speaks well of certain of the living. I've spent years waiting for the right occasion, with a tip o' the hat.

Happy Belated Tell! Hope it was a good one. Bet you got your groove on to that legendary 68 show huh?

Hey Craven - you never got back to me about that 11-3-91 DVD. My neighbors PC is down but I trust you to send my original to. Do you still want it?

Nothing would please me more JOTS.
I kinda passed it off as some of the typical
"complacentcy" of people around here. You know dealing
with their actual day to day lives. Wanting to commit,
and yet really not. Its cool man. Like I have said,
all you have to do is hit me at this user name and add that
yahoo crap. with a dot here and a com there. I send and
receive stuff (and I do mean stuff) ALL the time in the
mail. I don't fuck around. You send me this Tribute to
Bobo, I will burn it within 15 minutes of receiving it.
And have it mailed back the same effing day. If you want
some of my shit as compensation, most of it has copyrights
but Im sure I could hook you up with something you dont
have.
Always nice to see ya around. balls in your court......
peace
